I think im gonna do a few sketches with the new forme, like redesigns of it (Im gonna take out the "saussage toes" for sure ), and even a Mew "Eclair forme". I'll upload them today,hopefully.

Im also working on a gift for a Devwatcher (You know who you are).

Now, im going to give my personal thoughts on this matter.
Please read it carefully and to the final sentence, to avoid missconceptions:

I am not mad about an alternate forme for Mewtwo. A well executed alternate forme would be awesome.
The problem,again, lies within the design itself: It doesn't improve, or equals, on Mewtwo's design. It looks kinda rushed,and not too well thought/related to him. Overall, the design looks cool, but its not enough "Mewtwo-ish"

There are MUCH better designs, made by the fanbase, whether is here on DA, or in any other website, than by the official creators themselves.
This is nothing new, of course. It has happened with other Pokemon designs before.

I like to call this, the "involution" factor.
A great example for this, is Lickitung's "evolution": Not only it doesn't improve on Lickitung, but rather, sends it several steps down,making it look like a pre-evolution, rather than an evolved, adapted being. Also, the name doesn't help at all
(Lickylicky??, REALLY?? Couldn't you come up with something else? Imagine if Mewtwo would've been called "Mewmew" instead...)

I mean, How hard could it be,to imagine Lickitung's evolution as a bigger salamander, bipedal, or cuadruped,with a huge, spiky tongue? (Normal/Dragon, maybe?) Or even a fat chameleon, badass styled design?
Instead, they went with a rushed,poorly thought, "fairy styled" design. Such is the fate for most of the "normal" typed Pokemons, right?

Now,the fact that it has happened to such an iconic Pokemon, Its not a good sign. Sure! It's just an alternate form, not an evolution. I shouldn't be concerned at all Right?...Right?

Well...The problem is this:

Everything in this movie previews are hinting, that Mewtwo could stay on this forme FOREVER in the anime.

"Mewtwo's AWAKENING"
"Mewtwo has AWAKENED and become its NEW SHAPE"

This is THE BIGGEST concern.

Mewtwo changing forever into THAT? Seriously?
I know for a fact, that it is almost impossible to improve on Mewtwo's perfect design (Im also having trouble trying to think a more powerful forme for him...a "Mewthree" of some sort.)

But C'mon! You have an ENTIRE TEAM of professional game designers! If you're going to change such an iconic Pokemon forever, at least program an important meeting, of all your artists, and together, push yourself to IMPROVE on the design!
You should be able to surpass the petty designs of us, mere fanboys!

Instead, this probably permanent forme, looks like a poorly designed mewthree.

It is as if they are trying to make the newest fanbase,to mock on Mewtwo.
I had my suspicions on this: Have you noticed how weird the latest Mewtwo sprites were looking on the games lately? How dwarfed,skinny and fluffy he was looking? Compare them all here: [link].

I can see it coming now: In the movie, they will make him look all Godly, and more powerful, in this new forme,and most kids,and even fans of the first hour, will be "bought" into this design this way. Such is the way of this business, to sell its product

What can I say? Im just a passional person. I love to write oppinions with CAPS LOCKED words, and several !!!! to give them intensity.

Im an adult. Long gone are the days of childish reactions to fictional stuff.

Hopefully, the programmers will still let you choose which forme you wanna keep in the new games.

So I was wondering: Would you be interested in me taking commissions? Im evaluating this possibility.
Of course, It doesn't need to be all Pokemon! I am quite capable of handling other series/styles/etc.


This is how I thought it would work, step by step:

1> Client requests commision through private message ,with a detailed explanation of what he/she wants to have drawn. I tell the client if it can be done, or not. (Example: A top quality picture with ALL the Pokemon legendaries to date??? Done in 5 to 10 days??? Almost impossible. At least in my life situation.)
2> If we both agree on the commision, I start with a pencil drawing (no color), and then show it to him/her.
3> Client either: approves the overall design, or suggests any changes to the drawing, like a different camera angle, details like clothing on the characters, etc, etc.
4> Client approves the overall picture.
5> Client transfers the payment through Paypal.
6> Once the payment is received, I begin with the coloring. At this stage,deadline time starts to run.
7> Picture done! Time to send it to the Client's Email.
8> Client might suggest small changes to the coloring ,which I would gladly accept to do.
( SMALL changes,please! There are others in the line, and time is short and important.)
9> I suggest to the client if I could feature the commission in a separate folder, as a Portfolio. Client either accepts or not.

This last point would be VERY important for me. I would appreciate it a LOT from you, if you would allow me to show what im capable of, at my best. This way, people could evaluate if they wish to request from me, or preffer a more experienced/professional artist.


Of course, I would take commissions VERY seriously. Dissapointing the client with silly delays,stupid excuses, etc is NOT an option. NOT gonna happen.
There's real money in this, after all. Your savings are important, and I respect that.

In the possible case of, lets say, an example: me being hospitalized due to a car crash, I would contact the client through mail, tell him/her that im at the hospital, that it wont be possible to meet deadline, and then proceed to transfer the money back to you.


I think 5 to 10 days for a commission done would be okay, right?
Remember: I have an office job,which takes most of my free time during the week. It would be almost impossible for me to have a top quality picture done in less than 5 days.
Also, I would have to run a list of said commissions,with a quantity limit. 5 clients per list maybe?

And last, but not least...I dont know how much artists are charging lately!
Since I dont consider myself a top artist, I wouldn't be expensive. Rather, quite accesible for almost everyone.

Dunno, guys...your call.
Opinions? Suggestions? I would welcome those.

Im slowly getting fond of this "Mewthree". Its design is cute, sleek, dynamic, etc etc. The tail in the head kinda bothers me,but that's all.

Since I have no premium membership, I cannot put up a poll...So I'll use the journal instead.

A) A new clone of Mewtwo or Mew?
B) A regular, slightly rare, wild Pokemon, related to Mewtwo only through DNA?

How amazing these two devices are!!

Two days ago, I bought Soul Silver, which comes with the Pokewalker.
So what does the Pokewalker, and Dream Radar have in common?

Both can give you the chance to begin your Pkmn game like never before: With a great 6 Pokemon Team from the go! Quite fun, in my opinion.

For example, these are the teams I prepared to begin playing each game:

-Soul Silver (Team built with the Pokewalker)

Totodile -Lvl 8
Murkrow -Lvl 11
Magby -Lvl 9
Gastly -Lvl 10
Elekid -Lvl 11
Dratini -Lvl 10

-White 2 (Team built with the Dream Radar)

Thundurus-T -Lvl 5
Staryu -Lvl 5 (I'll be leaving Oshawott for now)
Beldum -lvl 5
Riolu -Lvl 5
Landorus-T (Coming soon!)

Plus, I will try to capture Lugia with the Dream Radar (By having the SS cartridge inserted on the 3DS) and send it to my Black 2 Cartridge.(For that, I have to capture Landorus-T first.)

I seriously hope that "Pokemon Y" lets you transfer your Pokemon from the very beginning.
If so, this is the Team I would build to begin the game:

Fennekin
Tornadus-T (I'll be training Thundurus-T and Landorus-T on White 2)

Staryu
Riolu or Beldum.

Hey! Its much more fun to begin with these, instead of Rattata or Pidgey, right?

So, I managed to get Pokemon White 2 at a very low price. "Low price" in Argentina, however, doesn't mean "low price" in USA

Lets just say that, compared to the price of the game, on a retail store in Argentina (More or less U$100) I got it brand new and unopened, for U$61, which is,at least, closer to the U$30 to U$35 that costs in the USA ... Still, OUCH

OMG OMG OMG 6TH GEN!!!

Just so you know, I've never played Black and white, or Black and White 2, because I dont own a DS anymore.
My passion for the games died while playing Diamond/Pearl (And never finished those either!) ,because I simply got tired of it. Could this new gen be the one that brings back my love for the franchise?

What does it need to have for me to gain interest back?

Two very basic,but essential things:

> More sleek, powerful, C-L-E-V-E-R looking Pkmn designs, and less useless round boring fluffy cheap weak bland horrible excuses of a Pkmn
> A more serious,well written,and less childish story (I think black and white had a more serious story than previous generations?. Correct me if im wrong.)

Dont get me wrong.I like cute looking creatures...
but I dont enjoy when more than 50% of the batch of a generation look like bland, uninteresting fillers! ( Icecream cone anyone?...JESUS CHRIST!) Please Nintendo! I grew up with these games! Grow up with ME! EVOLVE ALONG WITH THE PLAYERS!

BUT!

At the same time I remember all those guys who still do pixel fusions and such, and I feel sorry for them. I inmediately got reminded that it was the way I started to do pkmn related art stuff.

It will be interesting though, to see how the fans of the game will do the pixelated versions for themselves. I bet someone will try to do all of them for him/herself.

Well,let's see...in the past months I've been told lots of stuff about Inception.
And they weren't good...at all."Boring" was the most common word I could find in every comment ppl I know made me about the movie.
(I was the only one I haven't seen it in theaters by that time.)

But a hunch told me that I should not let this one pass.

So,fearing the worst (which is losing precious time to a boring movie),I took the DVD to home,sit on the couch,and pushed the play button.

I mean,this is some kind of "trend" I've been noticing in the last 5 years or so,where a complex movie would be inmediately labelled as "boring"! People doesn't reason and think anymore!?

Heck! and here I tought I was kinda slow when it came to complex situations! and this movie reminded me that im smarter than I could remember! (Thank you Mr Nolan,for giving me hope again)

I noticed myself going ahead of the script by a few seconds,but not because it was predictable! but because I could understand every single situation in the movie!
And the "Final fight" with "himself" in limbo? beautiful! And clever! how the script made Cobb face his own deepest feelings and guilts,and finally overcome them! This is pure,fresh psyquiatry material for college! They should study this movie at any psyquiatry class there is!

So whenever somebody say to you that a "movie is boring/dont pay the ticket/dont waste you time"...I say,follow your guts,and DO IT! You'll be surprised of what you've missed all the time.

Oh,and,how do you know if you've become kinda obsessed with a movie? When you find yourself watching at every possible review there is on the internet about it! That's how!!

During this week,I'll be trying to learn to use Adobe Illustrator for Vectorizing.

The reason? Well,I dont want to get ahead of time,but I was asked to prepare a few illustrations and isometric designs with this program,and present this as a portfolio,to apply for a videogame company.

Im confident I'll manage to handle it really quick.If I succeeded to learn to use Paint Shop Pro (The program I always used to do my pictures) with no tutorials,and just playing around with its tools,I dont see why I wont be able to do the same with this new program.

However,do you have any advice you could give me to start to use this program? Any tip would be very welcome.
