I think this is a great way to show artists where it all starts
And dont be harsh with yourself,will ya?
but its hard when Art is a very critique filled subject... I'm on study leave atm but before that when I did art in school my art teacher would always point out everything bad in a piece and nothing good in it at all
so its always been hard to appreciate my own work
Hmmm...Sounds like a frustrated artist himself/herself! So logically,he/she doesnt like others to succeed!
Meh,I had one or two of those in my school years...
So what if ONE person points out all the "bad" things.(because theres no such thing as "bad" in art)Because he/she is a teacher!? Just because it has a title of "teacher" doesnt make he/her an expert in the subject.
In fact,for what you tell me,its a frustrated artist,so I suggest you to avoid his/her suggestions and points of view,and instead grab any technique you could use in the future.
So no,art is not a very critique filled subject...art is for your own pleasure,and not your teachers.Feel it that way!

well he was the one that told me it was a very critique filled subject because I said I wanted to do it in college as well, which I'll be going to in september, and that really made me not look forward to it...
but when he told me I was thinking "no shit..." lmao cuz he was an asshole he even had bad things to say about the best artist in our class and she really is amazing
but enough about that she makes me jealous
I'll be dropping out of college if it makes me unhappy about my art because I want to be a tattoo artist so I don't feel that I have to be completely amazing because most tattoo's are simple and I'll most likely have a reference for whatever picture I'll be doing
